PGSR is a wholly owned subsidiary of Toshiba International Corporation and is seeking a Project Engineer/Manager to work within its Field Service team – Power Generation.  The role involves project managing PGSR’s field service projects which primarily involves supply of labour and assets/tooling into both Toshiba projects and directly into customer sites. The successful candidate MUST have project experience working in power generation and industrial environments and experience with utility sized steam turbines, generators and associated equipment will be highly regarded. This is a full time position and reports to the Senior Manager Field Services.

Typical duties/responsibilities for field service may include, but are not limited to, the following:

  • Manage multiple and parallel projects in line with PGSR and Toshiba project management standards.
  • Ensure financial management, forecasting and reporting is completed in line with PGSR/Toshiba standards.
  • Establish project management plans, priorities, forecasts and availability of resources/tooling/assets required to complete projects.
  • Ensure that work is performed in accordance with health and safety requirements.
  • Support the business by recommending actions to improve financial performance, whilst ensuring internal controls are in place.
  • Contribute to the achievement of the business unit’s objectives and drive for appropriate cost structure, productivity optimisation, and capital efficiency.

Requirements BASIC QUALIFICATIONS: 

  • Qualifications in Engineering, Construction Management or relevant experience in the power generation industry.
  • Significant, demonstrated experience in a project management/project control function in an industrial environment.
  • Knowledgeable and extensive experience in all aspects of project financial management, forecasting and reporting.
  • Experience creating project schedules and tracking progress of jobs against schedule.
  • Ability to develop and implement HSE systems and management plans.
  • Ability to develop, interpret, and understand technical drawings and engineering QA documents (record sheets/inspection and test plans).
  • Ability to co-ordinate and manage a large inventory of assets and tooling
  • Proficiency with Project Management software, inventory management databases and standard MS Office software including MS Access
  • White Card and Australian Driver’s License.
